Local EducationOne of Kidlinks' main goals is to provide education and raise awareness in the Madison area, which is why members of Kidlinks give presentations about our organization, South Africa, HIV/AIDS and apartheid. Cal Poly Tech Students - Work Trip to South AfricaThe students in a landscape architecture course at California Polytechnic State University in San Luis Obispo, CA traveled to South Africa in Aug/Sept of 2008 to build a memorial garden at Ikageng Itireleng AIDS Ministry and to enhance the garden at the Kei Mouth schools. The students designed and built the memorial garden so that the orphans of Ikageng Itireleng AIDS Ministry would have a place where they could memorialize their parents. The students made a second trip to South Africa to enhance the memorial garden and to build the Sigya Sonke food garden in 2009. Kidlinks is currently planning a new work trip for January 2012. |
