Serving vulnerable youth in Wisconsin and South Africa

May 21st - 22nd, 2021

Wide array of

veggies, herbs, flowers, shrubs, & more!

It is gardening and landscaping season! Spruce up your lawn, start your garden off right, and support a good cause! It's time for the annual Kidlinks plant sale.

Many across the globe continue to face challenges and turmoil as we embark on the second year of the COVID-19 pandemic. Kidlinks is working hard to provide care to those who need it most through healthy, fresh food and empowerment. There has never been a better time to support Kidlinks. Please consider purchasing plants or making a donation!

In Madison, food pantries are in need of fresh produce, as the number of people facing food insecurity due to job loss remains high. Kidlinks is currently growing a wide variety of fruits and vegetables exclusively to donate to the River Food Pantry of Dane County. Fresh produce is hard to come by at food pantries, especially when demand is high. To address this gap, Kidlinks aims to donate more than 1,200 pounds of fruits and vegetables in 2021. This will be possible thanks to our Briarpatch gardening project, which empowers at-risk youth with the skills and knowledge to farm. Help us continue to provide healthy food to our neighbors.

In South Africa, only 290,000 people have been vaccinated out of a population of 56 million. While the daily number of new virus cases is low right now, experts predict a third wave coming soon. As a result of lockdowns and market disruptions, rates of starvation are rising—particularly among communities already living in dire poverty. The Kidlinks Small Farm Incubator is producing and delivering food to families in need on a weekly basis, but this is far from enough. Our friends in South Africa need your help now more than ever.
